Years ago, I watched “The Lost City of Z”.
I remember how the mother told her son “be bold and have fun” as she sent him off to travel the Amazon with his father.
Then and there, I decided if I ever had kids, I’d send them off like that instead of
the typical “drive safely, be careful and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do” type goodbyes.
So, with a hug, kiss and “I love you”, I tell Ivy “have fun!” each time I drop her off or leave her behind.
(…then I walk away and pray for her safety)
There are so many amazing things to do and see around the world and I hope to instill confidence in Ivy by sending off on her adventures with “be bold and have fun”!
