|We actually DID know what we were getting ourselves into...|
I can't believe that I have lived in this house for a year today and I have no plans to move. Seriously. No plans. Who am I? I am doing things like asking Nick if we can one day get a pool and discussing where we should plant trees for our future grandchildren to play in the shade and becoming BFFs with my neighbors. I always assumed that being a home owner was a terrible burden...I mean, what about my freedom to pack up in one hour and move overseas if I want?! Been there, done that, but VERY surprisingly, I am settling in and enjoying the thought of home...a real home...the kind of home where people don't always have to ask, "So, where are y'all living now?".
The past year HAS been an adventure. We bought this place knowing that pretty much the entire house needed to be renovated. So, we have been working days, nights and weekends and everything in between. I've actually surprised myself and helped out my Ironman a lot! It's exciting to think of what we are accomplishing together!
Our first year has been focused on pulling up a lot of carpet, tearing down some walls and taking care of the basics like insulation, getting a decent bathroom and moving the washer and drier out of the garage and into the house.
Can't wait to see what we accomplish by June 19th, 2017!!!
Bathroom with shower...its going to eventually be a half bath, but we haven't actually gotten much work done in there yet!
3rd Bedroom...on its way to becoming the laundry room and some closet space!
2nd Bedroom...Guest Bedroom!
Living Room...knocked out some walls to create an open floor plan!
Kitchen had carpet...seriously...
Family Room became Dining Room...pulling up that red carpet was the FIRST thing we did!
Sunroom is basically storage now, but will become a Master Suite one day!!!
Front porch...my favorite spot in the house since Ironman built me a swing!
